We are delighted to announce that "Velvetyne Saved My Life" is finally out! This bilingual monograph (FR/EN) is dedicated to our collective, which has been distributing libre fonts since 2011. Thank you to everyone who pre-ordered and helped bring this book to life! ➰📕
The book was born from a long editorial journey: Sandra Chamaret conducted in-depth interviews with the collective's members, weaving together a polyphonic portrait of our foundry. Surfaces Utiles then carried the project across the finish line, bringing a fresh perspective to this long-standing publication.
Inside, you'll find a polyphonic interview with the members of Velvetyne, a series of in-depth articles on emblematic typefaces from the foundry, and an exhaustive catalogue of the more than 70 fonts published by nearly as many international authors.
Halfway between text and type specimen, the book is both a story to read and a manifesto to see.
